Performer Application for 2021

This application, along with audio/video samples and photos, is due by midnight on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Because our 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19, we will give first priority to performers we planned to invite then. For this reason, we will only be accepting a limited number of new applications. We can accommodate 33 performing groups total at Summerfest.

Work samples are required to be considered for Summerfest. You can submit work samples in the following ways:

  • Enter the URLs for online places where we can hear your music, such as your website, YouTube, Reverbnation, Bandcamp, etc. The application has places for these.
  • Upload mp3s in the online application.

The work samples should reflect how you will sound/look at Summerfest, i.e., if you plan to perform solo at Summerfest, your work sample should be solo, not a highly produced recording.

At least one photograph that can be used for publicity must be included with your application.

You can submit 1 or more photos in the following ways:

  • Enter the URLs for online places where we can retrieve photos of your act. The application has places for these.
  • Upload photos in the online application.

The 37th annual Summerfest Arts Faire will be held at the Cache County Fairgrounds (490 South 500 West) in Logan, Utah. The main stage will be outdoors in a tent. The second stage will be indoors at the Cache County Events Center at the fairgrounds. Summerfest 2021 will feature 160 artists’ booths, performances on two stages, a family art yard, food from around the world, and much more. Attendance at Summerfest averages 50,000 and is Cache Valley’s favorite “kick-off to summer” event. Summerfest Arts Faire is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to celebrating the arts in Cache Valley.

We have two stages that operate concurrently:

The Main Stage is 24'x20'x40 inches high. Full lighting and sound reinforcement provided, with sound engineer on site at all times. The stage and audience area are both under a tent. Seating capacity is about 300 chairs plus lawn seating all around.

The Indoor Stage is in the Events Center and will be 16'x12'x24 inches high. Seating capacity is about 150-200. Full sound reinforcement provided, with sound engineer on site. No lights other than the main lights in the hall.

This is a family-friendly festival, and we only hire groups that present material that is in good taste and does not celebrate drugs, alcohol, sex, or other adult topics.

Performance applications open December 5, 2020 and the deadline is February 7, 2021. The link to the application is When you get to that page, click on the Performers link to be taken to the application.

Selection Process

Artists will be selected by a jury comprised of music and performing arts professionals. Priority will be given to those artists who were slated to be invited to the 2020 event before it was cancelled. Jury selections will be based upon materials submitted with the application and on past performances. The jury will look for professionalism, originality, creativity, and suitability of materials for our family audiences.

Work Samples

All applicants are required to provide samples of their work. The work samples should reflect how you will sound/look at Summerfest, i.e., if you plan to perform solo at Summerfest, your work sample should be solo, not a highly produced recording with multiple musicians playing. You can

  • submit URLs for online places (your own website, or others like ReverbNation, CDBaby, Facebook, etc.) where we can hear your music, or
  • upload mp3s to the application itself.

Completed applications and supporting materials must be received by Summerfest Arts Faire no later than midnight on Sunday, February 7, 2021.Notification of jury decisions will be emailed by Saturday, March 26, 2021.

Links to performances of accepted performers, as well as photos may be used for archival, publicity, and website purposes before, during and after the event.
