2022 Summerfest Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in being a Summerfest Volunteer! We have the best crew in the valley, and we have a GREAT time during Summerfest Arts Faire! Listed below are the opportunities available this year. We are looking for individuals and groups to help us out. This year, Summerfest will be at the Cache County Fairgrounds and Events Center. 490 S 500 West in Logan.

General Information

Summerfest dates in 2022 are Thursday – Saturday, June 16 - 18. Setup day is Wednesday, June 15. Hours on Thursday and Friday are 11am – 10pm. Saturday hours are 10am – 10pm. Project descriptions indicate times during which shifts are available. Most shifts are a minimum of 2 hours. We hope you’ll consider signing up for more than one shift, either consecutive shifts, or one shift a day for two or three days. This helps us immensely!

Most volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, or 12 years of age with adult supervision.

Group Projects

Projects marked with an * are great projects for groups such as scout troops, community groups, church groups, companies, families, etc. If you wish to schedule a group (5 or more people), including scout or youth projects, to volunteer, please email Doug Walker at dswlogan@gmail.com.

Artist’s Booth Sitter (age 16+)

Enjoy meeting people? This is a great way to help out our visual artists by giving them a break in their long day to refill their water bottles or get a bite to eat. You don’t have to sell their art; you just hang out in their booth and tell the patrons the artist will be back in a few minutes. Walking, sitting. Sun and shade. We need 5 volunteers per shift.

Time needed:
  • Thursday, June 16, 12:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Friday, June 17, 12:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, June 18, 11:00 - 7:00 pm

At Large

Sometimes we just need someone to do stuff. This opportunity is for someone to run errands, fill in at the information booth, take messages to others or whatever else needs to be done.

Times needed:
  • Thursday, June 16, 12:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Friday, June 17, 12:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, June 18, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm

Creation Station (age 14+)

If you're a kid at heart this is where we need your talents! Come help teachers and visitors as they create art projects, participate in dance, theatre, and music activities, and more. Standing, walking, bending, some sitting. Shade.

Times needed:
  • Thursday, June 16, 12:00 - 6:00 pm

Times needed:
  • Thursday, June 16, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
  • Friday, June 17, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Parking Lot Management

There are two designated limited parking areas for art vendors, staff, performers and food vendors during Summerfest. People who are allowed to park in those areas will have parking passes. We need volunteers to be at the parking lot entrances, checking passes, and allowing people in and out.

Times needed:
  • Thursday, June 16, 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Friday, June 17, 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Saturday, June 18, 8:00 am – 10:00 pm

Plein Air Assistance (age 16+)

The Plein Air room is a busy place during the Arts Faire. Inside, we house all the plein air contest art. These items are sold in our silent auction. Proceeds help fund our activities. What is "Plein Air?" It is artwork that is created in the open air in a short time period. Because we invite the public to come and bid on this artwork throughout the event, we need a few extra volunteers to answer questions and help customers fill out various bid forms. We also need a few individuals to help close-out the silent auction. If you enjoy interacting with the community, consider helping us out. Sitting, standing, calculating. Air conditioned indoors.

Times needed:
  • Thursday, June 16, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm

  • Saturday, June 18, 7:00 pm – midnight

Volunteer “How-to’s”

Check In

Check in at the volunteer headquarters, the Information Tent, located on the east side of the Event Center, and our volunteer coordinator will direct you to your assignment. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift time. Wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. It’s usually hot in Utah in the summertime, but we have been known to get an occasional summer thunderstorm rolling through, so bring a light jacket if the forecast is for rain. Parking is available on the east side of the Fairgrounds, in the rodeo arena area on 500 South.
